riverbrew in LSJ
The Lansing State Journal is running a feature on RiverBrew today. Matt Miller at the LSJ was great to work with for the interview, but I am disappointed to see that they also quoted a local pastor disagreeing with our understanding of scripture. I know the controversy aspect is to be expected, but I hope it does not appear as though we are on different teams. Despite our differences in understanding this (non-essential) issue in the Bible, it would seem both that pastor and myself are both seeking the glory of God and the spread of the Gospel in the best ways we know how.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31

I appreciate the kingdom minded heart you've got. The fact that you recognize the non-essentials as non-essentials and place emphasis on being unified makes me proud to be a fellow beer loving Christian.
Hi Brett,
I read the LSJ article this morning, and I was wondering if your group of guys ever do any outings together. I work for the Grand Rapids Rampage (Arena Football) and we are having two Faith and Family nights this year. These nights mix hard-hitting, family-friendly football action, with a great night of fellowship, concluding with player faith testimonies. I would really like to share more information with you if you think it is something you may be interested in. Please contact me at: 616-559-1871 ext. 3039. Thanks Brett! I look forward to hearing from you!

eph 5:18 says it best...nothing ever done in excess is healthy/holy.
I wish the local pastor would have actually listed the parts of scripture that he believes make alcohol a no-no, instead of just saying the Bible clearly says you can't touch it.
Cool article. I wonder if you guys will notice a difference in attendance (at Riverview or Riverbrew) after this publicity? Keep us posted Brett.
