it should hurt more
I went for a walk today and took a few photos in the park across the street. So there I am walking around with nearly a thousand dollars of camera and lenses, and I come across this:
Last night the temperature was single digits, it was snowing, it was windy, and this carefully built structure was someone's home.
I broke a little inside. I thanked God for how He has blessed me. I am ashamed that I spend the vast majority of my life ignorant and oblivious to the needs all around me. I can't imagine what it must have been like for Jesus to walk around knowing which streets and alleys were a bed the night before. It should hurt more; not just when I see a makeshift shelter, but all the time. I pray that it does, and it scares me a little.

Brett, what park was this at, if you don't mind my asking?
